Published on: Sunday, June 26, 2005

June 26, the United Nations International Day in Support of Torture Victims and Survivors, is commemorated annually by TASSC. This commemoration includes various events, including a 24-Hour Vigil, meetings with government and non-government officials and those held among survivors themselves, press conferences, etc. The DC Anti-War Network endorsed this event and created a working group to be a part of the June 26 vigil. For more information see: http://www.tassc.org/ The working group will meet for a break-out on June 21 at the regular DAWN meeting. We are seeking participants interested in the TASSC vigil anytime between 7am June 26 and 7am June 27. TASSC is looking for people to fast, spend time at the vigil, be in a cage symbolically portraying a torture victim, and participate in nonviolent civil disobedience at The White House. Please contact: Malachy Kilbride at malachykilbride
