Iraqi Unionists Speak Out!
Resistance Under Occupation

A panel featuring representatives from:
- Federation of Workers’ Councils and Unions in Iraq
- General Union of Oil Employees
- Iraqi Federation of Trade Unions

Tuesday, June 14, 7pm
George Washington University, Marvin Center 3rd Floor Amphitheater
21st and H Sts, NW (Near Foggy Bottom Metro)

Saddam Hussein is gone but the current occupation of Iraq by US and British forces has continued the old regime’s anti-union laws. Unionists are harassed, imprisoned, and assassinated. But many Iraqi unionists refuse to give up.

Iraqi labor leaders are touring the US to share with Americans their struggles for social justice in occupied Iraq. Come hear them describe their efforts to fight privatization and occupation and find out what we can do to show solidarity with our union brothers and sisters in Iraq.

Sponsored by DC Anti-War Network (DAWN), GWU Students Against War in Iraq (SAWI), US Labor Against the War (USLAW) and DC Labor for Peace and Justice

Location: Marvin Center, Third Floor
