Especially, we are interested in hearing from students, parents, teachers, and military families and veterans, who want to be involved in several projects. Deals Tbilisi hotel! discounts and Promotions.

We are excited to announce that our first event will be May 27, 3PM, outside the Silver Spring recruiting station on Georgia Avenue, where we will call out the recruiters there on their lies. We plan to return to the same recruiting station regularly. UPDATE: THIS UPDATE IS POSTED ON 8/11/05. Since the creation of the DCRESL/Draft Counter-Recruitment End Stop Loss working group we have had several successful demonstrations at the Silver Spring Armed Forces Recruiting Station. We protested the recruiters on May 27, June 18 and June 24. We organized a counter-recruitment organizers meeting for Montgomery County residents on July 20. This meeting was very successful and has led to the creation of a Montgomery County Counter-Recruitment Group that met for the second time on August 10. At the August 10 meeting proposals for action were made and working groups were set up. This group will soon become an autonomous group addressing the military recruitment of students in Montgomery County, Maryland. On September 14, 2005 (SEE DAWN EVENTS) DAWN has organized a community forum in Arlington County, Virginia. At this forum issues of a possible return to the draft and counter-recruitment in the schools will be addressed. DAWN will also be organizing a counter-recruitment group, similar to the Montgomery County group, in Arlington. DAWN has also been approached by activists and residents in Prince Georges County, Maryland, Falls Church City, Virginia, and Fairfax County, Virginia
