June 26: UN International Day in Support of Torture Victims and Survivors

This Sunday marks the United Nations International Day in Support of Toture Victims and Survivors. From 7AM Sunday, June 26 to 7AM Monday, June 27 a 24 hour vigil,organized by the Torture Abolition and Survivors Support Coalition International(TASSC),will take place in Lafayette Park across from The White House. DAWN HAS ENDORSED THIS EVENT. You are urged to come and support this vigil for as long as you are able. At Noon Sunday several activists, including 2 DAWN participants, will participate in non-violent civil disobedience and risk arrest in front of The White House. Come out and support the vigil and these activists. People are still needed to be symbolic torture victims in a cage, participate in a fast, and participate in nonviolent civil disobedience. DAWN will have several speakers from 10PM to 10:30PM Sunday evening.
