Who is The DC Anti-War Network?
- DAWN is a network of organizations and individuals whose goal is the
end of US military intervention abroad and attacks on our basic freedoms
here.
- We have formed both due to the tragic events of September 11, 2001
and because the US Federal Government has since proceeded to commit
acts of terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq under the guise of eliminating
ALL terrorism.
- DAWN meetings areto the public and completely democratic giving
all attendees the opportuntiy to participate in general decision making
and discussions around issues involving WAR!
Take a look at our meeting
procedures to get a better picture of how we operate on a regular
basis.
Our Points of Unity (revised and approved 8/5/03)
We oppose:
- Using the victims of 9-11 to perpetrate the so-called "War on
Terrorism;"
- All forms of national, racial, economic or religious violence and
bigotry.
We demand:
- An end to war and occupation as a method of U.S. foreign policy;
- An end to the Patriot Act and the attacks on our civil liberties.
We seek:
- Global peace through economic and social justice;
- An aware world of ethnic, racial and religious tolerance.
